Andries Jonker Appointed Netherlands Women's National Football Team Manager

Former Dutch Coach and Player

Andries Jonker, a former Dutch professional footballer and coach, has been appointed as the manager of the Netherlands women's national football team. Jonker, who played for teams including FC Volendam and MVV Maastricht, has a wealth of coaching experience, having managed clubs such as Willem II, MVV, and Wolfsburg.

Experienced Manager

Jonker's coaching career began in 1998 with MVV, where he spent four seasons before moving to Willem II in 2002. He led Willem II to a KNVB Cup victory in 2010 and guided Wolfsburg to the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2018.

Jonker's appointment comes after the departure of Mark Parsons, who left the role in May 2022. The Netherlands women's team is preparing for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
